surveyDescriptionDiscontinuance of part of Hartland Town Highway No. 9 (Pelham North) Volume 5 Page 149 State of Vermont, Windsor County, In Re: Discontinuance of 0.4 miles of Town Highway No. 9. ORDER The above entitled matter came on for hearing before the Selectmen of the Town of Hartland on the 22nd day of October, A. D. 1952, pursuant to notice thereof in the following form: You are hereby notified that the Selectmen of the Town of Hartland will meet at Damon Hall in the Village of Hartland on the 22nd day of October, A. D. 1952, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, to examine the premises and to hear all persons interested in the proposed discontinuance of the following described highway: Being 0.4 miles of Town Highway No. 9, as shown on Map No. ___ 36, Vermont Highways, District No. 4, issued in 1949, for the Town Hartland, being that portion of the said road running from Town Highway No. 8 to Town Highway No. 4, from the residence of George Bowley to Highway No. 8. And said notice was sent by registered mail October 9, 1952, to the following named persons: Sidney Merrill, Norman and Louise Craven, Leonard Winans. Return receipts were received from the above named persons. At said hearing no one was present. Upon examination of the premises it is hereby found: That the 0.4 miles of Town Highway No. 9 running from Town Highway No. 8 to Town Highway No. 4, from the residence of George Bowley to Highway No. 8, is wholly within the Town of Hartland; that it has not been made to appear that said highway was laid out under the direction of the County Court or the Supreme Court; that there is no objection to closing the above described portion of said road. Therefore, It is ORDERED that that portion of Town Highway No. 9 running from Town Highway No. 8 to Town Highway No. 4, from the residence of George Bowley to Highway No. 8, be and hereby is discontinued. This order is effective at the time of its recording in the Office of the Town Clerk of said Town of Hartland. Dated at Hartland, in the County of Windsor, this 31st day of December, A. D. 1952.
